Personal branding shoot for Ruby, business owner and model, Cape Town 2025. Photo only, ~60 images.
Personal branding photography in Cape Town for Ruby, founder and face of Pretty Tax. With a business built around her personal brand, Ruby needed a full image library that could work across her website, social channels, and press — not just headshots, but a range of moods that reflected both sides of her: business owner and model. Two Cape Town locations, one red Pretty Tax branded dress as the visual through-line. The brief was confident, editorial portraits with enough variety — close-up to full-length, still to natural — to cover every format she'd actually need.
Photo-only session across two Cape Town locations. One outfit — the Pretty Tax branded red dress — with natural styling throughout. Target: ~60 edited images covering portrait close-ups, full-length editorial frames, and candid expression shots for use across Ruby's social channels and business presence.
Two locations gave the set two distinct registers. The mirrored tile poolside space — with its reflections, fountain, and mosaic art — let me work with layered, almost graphic compositions. The blue art-deco arch added energy and movement: full-length frames, raised arm, laughing, hands on head. I kept the lighting natural throughout and shot for variety within a single colour story — the red dress reads consistently, the backgrounds shift. Close portraits mixed with wider frames mean the client has options for every format, from a square crop on Instagram to a horizontal hero on her website.
