Two-day personal branding shoot for Cape Town personal trainer Julien Hirano of Hirano Training. 120 images delivered, photo only
Julien Hirano is a Zürich-based personal trainer who needed a full content library — action, lifestyle, and portrait work — to represent his brand across his website and social channels. Two days, multiple locations across the city, one brief: show what Hirano Training actually looks like in practice. The shoot covered outdoor training sessions, running through the city, calisthenics at Clifton, and kettlebell and sandbag work — built around how Julien actually trains his clients, not a gym set.
Two shoot days across multiple Cape Town locations, 2024.
— Day 1: Clifton tidal pool area and rocks, sunrise session
— calisthenics, plank holds, push-up sequences, portraits
— Day 2: De Waal Drive bridge and surroundings
— running, jumps, parkour-style movement; city streets with harbour backdrop; outdoor strength training with kettlebells, dumbbells, and sandbag
120 final edited images delivered. Photo only. Content structured for website hero images, social posts, and profile photography.
Personal trainer shoots live or die on variety. A library that's all action looks flat; a library that's all portrait looks static. I planned the two days to move between environments and between energy levels — high-intensity movement at golden hour for the hero frames, then quieter strength and mindfulness work for the supporting content. Clifton gave us the Cape Town landmark backdrop for the lifestyle frames. The bridge and city streets gave us motion and scale. Low-angle shots on the bridge turned a standard jump into something that reads as a campaign image. The kettlebell work against the textured concrete wall was the natural finish — strong, grounded, repeatable for social.
120 final edited images across action, strength, running, portrait, and lifestyle categories — delivered to Hirano Training for website and social use. The two-day structure gave Julien a library wide enough to cover months of content without repeating the same look.
