ME+U, a women's cricket footwear brand, needed photo and video for a new women's cricket shoe — product and on-field — with Maia Bouchier as the athlete.
Half a day at Maties Cricket in Stellenbosch, photo and video as a single operator:

I shot the shoe where it actually works — the footwork at the crease, pushing off between the wickets, the sole and spikes in the grass — rather than as a static product on a table. Low angles to keep the shoe in the frame through the movement, and I read the batting to catch the shot at contact rather than after it. Product, action and portraits all came out of the half day, with a 16-second vertical cut for social.
