Talenthafen brought a group of agency founders to Cape Town for a two-day mastermind — working sessions at One&Only Cape Town, a group dinner, and a closing afternoon at Beau Constantia. The brief was to document the full programme without staging it: boardroom sessions that looked like boardroom sessions, networking that read as genuine. I covered both days solo across photo and video, moving between the hotel, outdoor spaces, and the Constantia winery, and delivered 120 edited images and a 90-second highlight reel.

The mastermind format is deliberately intimate — a single long table, fifteen to twenty people, no stage. That format requires a different approach to a panel or conference: I stayed at the edges of the room during sessions, worked with available light from the large windows, and kept movement minimal to avoid pulling focus from whoever was speaking. The candid moments between sessions — conversations in the hotel lobby, the outdoor networking during breaks — needed a looser approach, longer lens, staying far enough back that people forgot the camera was there. At Beau Constantia the light and setting did most of the work; I focused on the group dynamic and the landscape backdrop rather than trying to manufacture moments that were already happening naturally.
